Dudley Moxon SOI Champion re-visits LLTC. Dudley was SOI Champion in 1961 & 1962 and runner up in 1963. He and his wife Laurely were surprise visitors to the Club on September the 18th 2009. Dudley was RAF Champion and played inter-county tennis with Middlesex. He also played in Junior Wimbledon and reached the main Wimbledon qualifiers. Club aficionados Ivan O'Riordan and Michael O'Malley remember him as a stylish and impressive South of Ireland Champion. It is wonderful that a previous SOI champion like Dudley would take the time to visit the scene of his past triumphs. |
