The Thursday Morning Ladies is a mini club within Limerick Lawn Tennis Club. It started over 25 years ago and is very ably run by Rita Mulholland. Each week the group meets at 10am for tennis followed by coffee and chat. The tennis calendar starts in September and ends in June. The highlight of the year is the doubles competition which is sponsored by a member of the group. This is run over four weeks and culminates with a presentation of prizes and a super lunch with all food supplied by the ladies themselves.
This is a very active group with a varied programme throughout the year: We have travelled to La Manga in Spain for a wonderful week of tennis and have also visited various clubs in the region such as Killaloe, Nenagh, Sundays Well and more recently Kilfeakle for friendly fixtures. In recent years we have completed two sessions of doubles coaching with well known coach Tadhg Lambe. The social side of the group continues to expand and anyone who comes to Limerick Lawn on a Thursday morning is immediately welcomed into a friendly group to play social tennis and make new friends.

The traditional end-of-season competition, kindly sponsored by O'Donnell Fashions, concluded in early June and prizes were presented at an excellent lunch organised by the ladies. Our thanks to Ann Clogan for her generous sponsorship; Rita looks forward to a resumption of Thursday morning activity after the Summer break.
